Hello dear friends! There's a lot of freezing cold and rain happening outside, so in between blankets, letters and tea I bring you some Sunday inspiration with this beautiful caption found among the lovely contributions, through our main hashtag #senditforwardp. Here's a bit from Kelsey, Washington, DC.
- Snailmail is... an amazing kind of self-therapy for me. As I pour myself into papercrafts and letter writing I can physically feel myself relax. I crank the music up and I dig in. I'm never surprised to find myself dancing around with washi stuck to my fingers.
- I wish to send forward... as much love and hope as I possibly can. Each letter, postcard, and package I receive brings a smile to my face. A big one. Settling in to read a letter from a dear friend warms my heart. I have gotten letters that have made me remember what happiness is, brought tears to my eyes, and made me do victory dances. I can only hope that I have done and can do this for others.
One story, something good that happened wich was provided by the joy of letter writing.
When I moved to Washington, DC miles away from my loving mother living in Kentucky, I knew it would be difficult. Trust me when I say there have been many tearful phone calls and desperate texts seeking advice and comfort from both ends. Luckily, I have an amazing mom that finds the most spectacular post cards. (She's even sent me DC ones before.) She has become my most frequent penpal. Her postcards litter my bookshelves and mine plaster the fridge back home. Each time I get one in the mail it's like she's sent me a little piece of her saying hello.

Today, I'm bringing to you another beautiful caption found among the lovely contributions, through our main hashtag #senditforwardp. I've seen this picture some time ago, and really wanted to highlight it on the blog because it really reminded me some of my own afternoons aging paper. Ana Kalline is a very creative snailmailer, so she surely keeps many snail mail stories, as you might imagine. In this post, you can read one.
Snailmail is... It's able to touch people personally can not touch. It's the struggle to make the world a better place to live with pen and paper in place of the sword.
I wish to send forward... I get many strong letters from people who were lost somehow in a bad thought. I SHIP hope that these thoughts stole them. Sending smiles, good stories of overcoming and of course, my life.

In September 2014 I discovered that was with leukemia and was the only time of my life that I felt disheartened. I abandoned the snailmail and other things I really liked to do. I gave satisfaction to my friends and said that would not more writing. And then began to reach many letters here where I live today and in the house of my parents. arrived numerous letters per week of people sending me strength. People that not know me, people I had never talked... These letters spoke" do not give up"," I am with you"," You are not alone"," You inspire me and I do not want to miss it.".. Still in the same year began to prepare holiday cards for those who had me writing these letters and was emerging in me a force that I did not know where vines. I felt much pain at first, but then felt that there was an energy that I carried. I thought the time in return to write and decorate my letters as I liked to do. Today I got over and I am cured, but strongly believe that if I had not received so hard during this situation I would not be as I am today. They were more than 500 letters of support I received during the time I spent sick. This is supernatural.

It's time for another highlight chosen from the amazing archive of our main tag #senditforwardp, and this time I'm presenting you Diana, who as just found her first pen pal throughout our community!
Snailmail is... more than just writing a letter, it’s putting your heart and soul to create a OOAK (one of a kind) letter or even “mini project” that will make the recipient of your letter feel special. It’s also called “happy mail”, well, that’s the aim of the envelope. The contents of the letter really depends on your relationship with the recipient, I have a variety of different pen pals at the moment, I started very recently so I can’t say I’ve built a deep relationship with anyone at the moment, but I do have really qualified candidates! I don’t mind accepting all kinds of people because I think as a style of life guide line , you should always talk about what brings you together, not about what separates you. I put this in practice in the snail mail community too, and no matter the age or country or religion or tastes, I will always find a topic in common! Otherwise wouldn’t it be a tiny minded world? Diversity is fun.
I wish to send forward... creative letters designed and customized to fit the recipients personality and taste but that’s not that easy, you have to get to know the person you are writing to, it takes time but that's also the aim of snail mailing!

The other day I had fun making an Alice in Wonderland themed letter and a random instagram user told me she loved Alice in Wonderland and I read on her bio she war really fan of it, so I wrote her a DM and told her I would be sending her my letter, I knew it was going to be something special for her and she would appreciate it more than anyone. She was really happy for that unexpected gift. I hope it reaches her safety!
